Caviar Dreams

Not everyone can enjoy lifestyles of the rich and famous, but some common goods can taste like champagne wishes.  May I introduce the humble mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds packed with a punch of potential.

This lacto-fermented delight is a blend of yellow & brown mustard seeds brined in a 2.5% salt solution before a bath in apple cider vinegar.  The result is a salty, sour pop of spicy mustard.

Terrific for salad dressings, ham sammies, and any charcuterie board.  I introduced my family to Caviar Dreams by topping it on my steak crostini.

Theo Penn Candle

Candles make cozy.  The light and warm and fragrance have the power to transform a house into a home.  Whenever company is coming over or I simply want to find a moment of peace, I light one of these candles.

This 100% soy wax candle  has a strong but sweet fragrance--just like Theo.  You'll note masculine tones of tobacco & caramel, suble waffs of  baby brother & love.  Each candle is formulated to provide the best burning and smelling candle you can find.  Scents can be hit or miss, but this one is a winner!

Just Soap

In another life, by dad was a chemist.  And this year he taught me about saponification, which I told him should have been called soaponification, becuase it's the chemical reaction that makes soap!

Our soap is simple:  olive oil, coconut oil, and lye (that is sodium hydroxide.)  We've added a few different essential oils to make it smell nice.  Our Koala Sunrise is an invigorating soap made with eucalyptus oil.  And our Lavender Spring is a fragrant blend of lavender and eucalyptus.

Of course, like everything else we make, we always add a little love.  If you're interested in buying or making this common good, shoot me a message at eloise@yourcommongoods.com.

Tahitian Vanilla

This Tahitian Vanilla Extract (more properly, tincture) is the perfect complement for all of your sweet treats, baked or frozen.  Its fruity & floral structure is especially suited for my Poppy's Homemade Ice Cream!

I grew up using Shank's Imitation Vanilla, which is as good of an imitation as I've found.  But this is the real deal with only two ingredients (three if you count love.)  It's an infusion of whole vanilla beans and vodka that matures in 3 months...and it's worth the wait!
